Xinjiang Geological and Mineral Museum is situated on the Youhao Road. It possesses more than 12,ooo pieces of fossil specimen, among which over 100 pieces are first-rank, for example, the 1.7 meter-long crystal with the diameter of 62 centimeters and the weight of 780 kilograms, the round copper with the diameters of 35 centimeters and the weight of 102 kilograms. A great number of famous jade and diamond are also included in the the museum.
Xinjiang Geological and Mineral Museum covers a total exhibiton area of 2400 square meters, housing the following four exhibition halls, which are separately the geoscience hall, Xinjiang mineral hall, Xinjiang mineral exploration and utilization hall and geology hall.
