NO 1 Glacier is the headstream of Urumchi River. It is about 2.2 kilometers long, averagely 500 meters’ wide, covers an area of 1.8 square meters. Around it lay out 150 modern glaciers big or small.
Due to the concentration of modern glaciers, the typical glacier physiognomy and aggradation as well as the integrated and clear ancient glacier relic, NO 1 glacier is the best place to observe and make research on modern glacier and ancient glacier relic. There is a silver waterfall which is blue and glittering. Before the ice tongue, there is a big cave dug by scientific researchers. Around the cliffs, there are marmot and sometimes even snow lotus. In the way out and home, one can enjoy the unique upright scenery zone of Mount Tian.
