Nanjing served capital of 6 dynasties in ancient time. It keeps numerous remnants of its brilliant past. Qinhuai River, the red-light area during the Ming and Qing dynasties is lined with buildings and retains traces from that time. Nanjing was capital of ancient china's ming Dynasty and at the foot of the purple mountains lies tomb of the first Ming Emperor,zhuyuanzhang. There are many old temples in the purple mountain and the Xixia Mountain.
