Choosing the best time depends on which places you want to go and what kind of weather you enjoy. Generally speaking, May, September October are the peak traveling seasons in China when the weather is most comfortable but the price is a bit higher and everywhere is more crowded. Lower seasons come in late November and continues through the winter when the traveling cost is much lower and less crowded. But be warned of the time constraints if you are going to the remote west parts of the country. Some area is not accessible at certain times of the year. Such as the area in west Sichuan and west Yunnan is often blocked because of landslides during rainy season.
