Shanghai has regained its position as one of the financial, economic centers of east Asia. The city is throbbing with modernity and dynamics. Strolling along the Nanjing Road, symbol of Shanghai's thriving commercial activities and the Bund, sign of the city's colonial past has been must-dos for most travelers to Shanghai. It's ture that Shanghai's ubiquitous modern features have somewhat overshadowed its old and traditional facades but not compeltely. Along the area around the Yuyuan Garden are streets filled with old builings, offering tourists opportuniy to see Old Shanghai. I think the beauty of visiting Shanghai lies in the comparison between old and new Shanghai and absorb the rebirth of one of the world's greatest city.
