Chengdu, (Jin or Rong for short), the capital of Sichuan Province, is located between the plateau and mountainous region in the northwestern part and the hilly land in the middle part of Sichuan. In the middle and the southeast of Chengdu is the wide Chengdu Plain, which has an altitude of about 500 meters. Chengdu enjoys a mild climate, with an average annual temperature of 16°C, and an abundant annual rainfall of about 1000 millimeters. With a total area of 123,900 sq. km and a population of 10 million, Chengdu administrates 7 districts, 4 county-leveled cities and 8 counties.
