Why Tea has become such an important "spiritual life" for Chinese?

I don't understand why tea has become "spiritual life" for Chinese? It is a kind of drink, a way of spending time, a way to be with friends..... What eles?

Drinking tea now has become a culture in China. Chinese people like drinking tea they not only just drinking, but also it is a way to creat inner peace. That's why it has become "spiritual life".
