Visiting Dunhuang in November

I would like to visit Dunhuang in mid-November, but I was told that flights into Dunhuang stop end of October. How easy is it to travel to Dunhuang by train from either Beijing or Shanghai and how long will it take? Would it be better to fly into Xian and then travel by train to Dunhuang? What is the weather like in November? Is it a suitable time to visit Dunhuang? Please advise. Thank you

Hello, nl10553, there are still flights into Duhuang in November, and it is very convenient to travel to Dunhuan from Beijing and Xi''an. The best time for visiting Dunhuang is from May to October. In december, it is cold and dry. The average temperature is 0℃. and its temperature difference between day and night is very sharp. Please take care and bring more clothes with you. And even worse, train from Beijing arrive at Liuyuan station at midnight so...
It''s not a good idea to take a train trip to Dunhuang from Beijing.

There is no direct train from Beijing to Dunhuang. The only train (T70) from Beijing to the region terminate at Liuyuan(140 km away from Dunhuang). You have to have another 9 hours'''' ride by bus to get to Dunhuang from Liuyuan. Train trip from Beijing to Liuyuan takes around 29 hours.
