Tiger Hill, located in the northwestern part of Suzhou, and has a history of over 2500 years. Tiger Hill was originally named Haiyong Mountain. According to historical documents, the Emperor of Wu, He Lü, was buried there, and a white tiger stood on his grave three days after that. Thus it got its name, Tiger Hill. It has long been such an attractive place for tourists. After going there, Su Dongpo, a great poet in Song Dynasty, praised it like this, “it is a great pity to come to Suzhou without visiting Tiger Hill”.

Tiger Hill is also an important place for the people of Suzhou to come together. According to tradition there is a flower show every spring, in which hundreds of types of flowers are exhibited, and there is a temple fair every autumn, in which folk performances from south and north are given. They are also very popular with tourists.

Tiger Hill has a beautiful view and it one of the best of the scenic areas in eastern China.
