Nanjing Lukou International Airport is located in Lukou Town, Jiangning District, with a straight-line distance of 35km (22 miles) southeast to the city center. Connected by the Airport Highway to Nanjing City, Nanjing Lukou International Airport enjoys a very convenient transportation, getting there takes about 45 minutes. Airport shuttle buses leave from Xinghan Building at No. 180 of Hanzhong Road daily with an interval of half an hour from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m, and also there is one from airport to Hanxing Building and Jiangsu Province Conference Center since 8:30a.m. For assistance, most three-star and above-rating hotels in the city have special bus services to the airport.

The Yangtze River Bridge in Nanjing connects railways on the northern and the southern river banks so that Nanjing has become the train transport hub of Eastern China. At the intersection of the national Jinghu Railway (Beijing-Shanghai Railway) and Ningtong (Nanjing -Tongchuan) Railway, Nanjing has a convenient rail network , which includes Nanjing Station, Nanjing West Station and Nanjing South Station, which aim at the trains for different directions. Even Huning part of Jinghu Railway has the ticket rule, like the buses. You can get on the train at any time as soon as you buy the ticket.

Nanjing is one of the biggest key road nets in the east of the China. Center in Nanjing, six expressways such as Huning, Ninlian, Ningtong, etc. radiate to it and the surrounding areas in Anhui Province, Zhejiang Province and Shanghai. There are altogether 9 distance passenger stations, among which Nanjing (Zhongyangmen) Distance Passenger Station is the most important one in Nanjing serving the most travelers. Nanjing-Shanghai Express buses leave for five cities along the Nanjing-Shanghai rute from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily with an interval of twenty or thirty minutes.

Nanjing Port is the biggest inland waters port along the Yangtze River route, even the ships with ten thousands ton loading capacity can sail through it all year round. Every day the passenger cruise ships sail forth and back among Chongqin, Hankou, Nanjing and Shanghai . Nanjing Port Passenger Station, which is located in the northern end of Jiangbian Road in Xiaguan area, is close to West Nanjing Railway Station. Bus No.4, 10or 302 can reach the port.

Public Buses

With about one hundred bus and trolley bus routes, the transportation of Nanjing proper is convenient. All the buses are self-service ticketing, 1yuan for ordinary buses, 2yuan for air conditioning buses. Besides, there are 8 mini bus routes with conductors (initial number is 3) and 18 overnight bus routes of self-service ticketing (initial number is 8).

Taxi

The charge of taxi in Nanjing is 7yuan for a 3 kilos' ride, and 2.4yuan per kilo after that. But the taxi charges according to distance only not including waiting time.
