There are four civil airports in Harbin, Qiqihar, Mudanjiang and Jiamusi cities in Heilongjiang Province. Harbin Taiping International Airport is one of the eight largest airports in China and the second largest in northeastern China. There are scheduled flights to/fro Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Qingdao, Wenzhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Dalian and Xi’an in China and Blagoveschensk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok in Russia, Seoul in South Korea and Kiigata in Japan.

Railroad is the major transport in Heilongjiang, one of the first provinces in China where railroads were built. Bei-Man (Binsui-Binzhou) Railroad, the first railroad in Heilongjiang, was built in 1897. The railroad mileage totals 5,121 kilometers, the longest one in China. Nowadays, the railroad network of 26 railroads, with four central industrial cities of Harbin, Qiqihar, Mudanjiang and Jiamusi as the joining points, is connected with the Siberia Railroad in Russia through Binsui-Binzhou Railroad and with North Korea through Mudanjiang-Tumen Railroad. The railroad network is also connected with the major railroad network in China.

Heilongjiang enjoys a convenient highroad transport. There are 7 national highroads in the province and a highroad mileage of 46,617 km, which ranks 5th in China. There are two highways in Heilongjiang (Daqing-Harbin-Mudanjiang-Suifenhe and the Provincial Border of National Highway 102-Harbin-Jiamusi-Hegang) and three highways under construction (Daqing-Qiqihar, Jiamusi-Tongjiang and the Provincial Border-Changchun).

Heilongjiang also boasts a convenient water transport. The navigable waterway totals 4,696 km, and there are 9 inland navigation lines in the province. The water carriage network includes the major lines of Songhuajiang, Heilongjiang and Wusulijiang rivers and the hubs of Harbin and Jiamusi cities. Songhuajiang Navigation Line, open from May to November, is the trunk water carriage line in the province. Heilongjiang Navigation Line, the northern most one in China, converges with Songhuajiang and Wusulijiang river lines in Tongjiang City and the waterway in Khabarovsk in Russia. Wusuli Navigation Line, frozen in winter, is the boundary river of China and Russia.
