Woniu Lake Beauty Spot

Introduction:

Woniu Lake is located on the 16 kilometers of Heihu Road. It is the provincial level scenic spot of Heilongjiang Province and a famous scenery spot in the northern end of China. The lake covers a total area of 50 square kilometers and overlooks Blagovieshensk of Russia. Woniu Lake is an unpolluted place with clean, transparent and wavy water. Around the lake are meandering mountains with flourishing trees and dense forests. As no main road passes here, this place is free from noise, soot and busy traffic. In here, picturesque scenery, pleasant sight and fresh air will impress you a lot. The water of Woniu Lake, which is encompassed by mountains, ripples slightly with the wind. Sometimes, there are boats pass by. You can enjoy this dramatic scenery as long as you like. Every year, 1.5 million small fishes are put into the lake and reproduce 600 thousand of fishes. The annual catching quantity is about 75 thousand kilograms on average with the biggest quantity of 100 thousand kilograms. In the lake, you can find carp, crucian, silver carp, grass carp and cat fish. The fishing lovers could fully display their capabilities here. In winter, the frozen lake surface is a natural ice stadium. You can skate, ski, play icy sail and play sledges on the lake. In the southwest of Woniu Lake lie seven mineral springs which connect with each other like the shape of the Big Dipper. That’s why these springs are called Dipper of Springs. The springs spew naturally without any stop. The fourth spring spews out 500 tons of water everyday. The spring water contains many kinds of microelements and is the high-quality mineral water with carbonates. It is said that as early as 1930s, the mineral water of these seven springs was praised as the longevity water. In the forests around the lake, there stand various kinds of trees like pine trees, birches, oaks, plum trees and willows. In the forest you can also find medicinal materials like fruit of Chinese magnoliavine, lily and caladium. Mountain potherbs like citron day lily, hill celery and purslane are also green foods which are good for health. Besides, there are black bears, wild boar, roes, hares, lynxes, badgers, foxes and pheasants.

Tips:
(1) The diets of Woniu Lake are mostly fish banquets. The carp, crucian, silver carp, grass carp in the lake and fishes from Heilongjiang River are all delicious dishes. You can also taste the potherbs like wild brake, hilly celery, willow buds and purslanes.
(2) At the entrance of Woniu River, Heilongjiang River happens to take a turn here. The river bank is long and curving with no fords. It is a natural harbor which kiloton level ships could anchor. Boarding a ship from this harbor, you can get to the downtown area of Heihe City. Then, you could go to Daheihe Island and then to ancient city of Aihui. Several wonderful spots are linked by this golden route of traveling by water.
