On the outskirts of Guiyang City lie numerous rivers, among which is Wujiang, the longest river in Guizhou Province. Upstream of the Wujiang River is called Liuguang River. Liuguang River Canyon is a canyon along Wujiang River with a length of more than 20 kilometers. At the wide point, you can see a vast expanse of misty, rolling waters, while at the narrow point, just a strip of sky overhead. The Miao and the Buyi villages under the cliff are Shangri-la like as if far away from the worries of the world. The old Liuguang Ferry once visited by the famous philosopher Wang Yangming and the Fudong Temple on the cliff with a history of over 400 years both show profound cultural inheritance.
