Hezhou Overview

Brief introduction of the city:

Situated in the northeast of Guangxi Province, Hezhou is the conjunction of Hunan Province, Guangdong Province and Guangxi Province. It is the most convenient passage to Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao from the broad Southwest area, because it faces the former three and with the latter situated at its back. It covers an area of 11,855 square kilometers and governs Babu County, Zhongshan County, Fuchuan County, Zhaoping Borough, altogether 67 villages and towns, with a population of 2,070 thousand. Hezhou is an area where different nationalities live together. The minor nationality Tuyao enjoys a uniquely charming tradition and culture. Besides, there are many other ethical festivals like Fu Mountain Singing Festival, Firecracker Festival, and Fuyang Street lantern Festival, etc. All of those reflect the tradition of the folks, a long history and splendid culture of Hezhou.  

Hezhou owns a pleasant and tranquil rurality. There is a thick virgin forest and a natural reservation that can be called a natural zoo and garden abundant in animals and plants. Beautiful scenery can be seen anywhere as well as hot springs and water falls. The old town Huangyao not only retains the history and culture in Ming and Qing dynasties but also prides in rurality and you can explore a limestone cave there. Apart from Huangyao Old Town, there are other cultural relics and scenic spots such as Civilization Pavilion, banyan trees thousands of years old, Old Town Hejie, ancient tower, stone city, unique house of kejia minority, especially Fu Mountain, that stands erect in the river, forming a pretty scenery. All these spots attract a lot of tourist home and abroad.
