Airline

The airport in Shaoguan is now under expansion and improvement. When complete, it will be able to send tourists from Shaoguan to cities like Guangzhou, Qingyuan, Huizhou and Heyuan. Moreover, it will largely promote, with a strong transportation capacity, the communication between Shaoguan and Jiangxi Province in the East as well as Hunan Province in the North.

Railway

The main Beijing-Guangzhou Railway line covers the urban area of Shaoguan, Lechang City, Qujiang District and Ruyuan County. Each day there are 130 trains running across Shaoguan, with several return special expresses from Shaoguan to Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Tourists from the North can get off here for a tour and then go to visit other cities of Guangdong. Trains are available from Shaoguan to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhaoqing. Shaoguan Train Station lies in the east bank of Zhenjiang River, and its telephone number is 0751-8763863. Tourists can reach there by bus Number One, Two, Three, Four, Nine and Ten.

Highway

Highway traffic in Shaoguan is very convenient. There are Number 105, 106, 107, and 323 National Highways running across the city. The first highway line from Shaoguan to Guangzhou is 290 kilometers long. Thanks to the completion of the Gantang-Wengcheng section of Beijing-Zhuhai Highway in Shaoguan, the traffic time from Shaoguan to Guangzhou has been reduced by one hour. There are tour autobuses to scenic spots nearby. If not available, tourists can take a way from Shaoguan to county stations of other cities within three hours and then turn to your favored scenic spots.

Water transportation

There are sea-routes from Shaoguan to Beijiang River, Wujiang River, Zhengjiang River, Wengjiang River, Xinfengjiang River and Longguihe River, etc. Beijiang River is capable to the voyage of 100-tonnage ships from Shaoguan to Guangzhou.

Bus and Taxi

Transportation within Shaoguan is very convent. Bus is available from 6:00 am to 9: 00 pm. Most buses are self-service ones whose ticket price is one Yuan per person. There are tour-city buses—bus Number 12 and Number 13 to scenic spots in Shaoguan. Besides bus, taxi is another good choice. Travel by taxi in Shaoguan is the most economic compared with that in other cities of China—four Yuan within three kilometers in daytime and five Yuan after 21:00 at night; 1.6 Yuan /kilometer beyond three kilometers.
