Transportation of the City

There is no railway and airport in Shanwei, but transportation by land is very swift and convenient, coaches sent to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shantou being close together.

 Highways

The Guangshan highway is crossing Shanwei and so will Shenshan highway. The distances between Shanwei and Guangzhou, Shanwei and Shantou, Shanwei and Shenzhen, are respectively 316, 207 and 224 kilometers.

The Shanwei Motor Vehicle Transportation Company has through coaches to Shenzhen (Luohu station), Kowloon (Stadium Station), Guangzhou (Through Coach Center in Tianhe Passenger Station) and Shantou (Central Station). Besides, it has built county-crossing through routes to Lufeng, Jiazi, Heshi, and to Zhelang and Shagang.

Transportation throughout the City

Public transportation in Shanwei urban area is underdevelopment and taxis are in a limited number compared with the large number of three-wheelers. The same as three-wheeler, the takeoff prices for taxi is only 3 yuan, much cheaper than that in cities like Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
