Mz. Xian is the female leader of Southern Yue Baiyue Nationality in AD 6 century. She devotes all her life to unifying the country and the people. Because of her distinguished contribution, she was called by Premier Zhou No. 1 Heron in Female World, and also was called the Blessed Virgin Mary in folk. The belief of Mz. Xian is widespread in Guangdong province, Hainan province, Southeast Asia, etc. Many Xiantai Temples were built to memorize Mz. Xian in various places. There are more than 200 temples in Maoming City, among which Xiantai Temple in Gaozhou is largest and most powerful.

The temple was originally built in Jiajing 14th year in Ming Dynasty (AD1535). It can be divided into four parts: front hall, middle hall, main hall and Fenggong temple. There is sculpture of Mz. Xian, stone carving, stone inscription, which have high historic and cultural value. It is a provincial key cultural relic unit under state protection.
