Yuexiu Park

Yuexiu Park, named after Yuexiu Mountain, was built in 1952 and is the biggest comprehensive sightseeing park in Guangzhou.

Yuexiu Park consists of seven peaks with the main peak being the Yuejing Peak, and three artificial lakes – Beixiu Lake, Nanxiu Lake, and Dongxiu Lake. The Park has been well known for the beautiful hills and waters and plenty of historical relics that you can enjoy at ease in the park.

Besides the splendid natural scenery of Yuexiu Park, there have many famous scenic sites of different historical periods, such as the well known "Statue of the Five Goats", Zhenhai Tower, the Ancient City Wall of the Ming Dynasty, Sifang Emplacement and Zhongshan Monument.

What's more, there is the Yuexiu Mountain Stadium that can hold about 30,000 people; Yuexiu Natatorium meeting the demand of international matches; as well as Jinyin Natatorium, Flower House and Guangzhou Museum of Art.

Take buses No. 33, 550, 529, 225, 297, 30, 122, 133, 241 at the Huanshi Road bus station; take buses No. 87,101, 133, 187, 518, 21, 519, 182, 24, 58, 219, 233, 36, 547, 10 and 191 at the Jiefang Road bus station; take buses No. 220, 33, 184, 6, 66, 190, 544, 219, 233, 36, 547, 10, and 191 at the Xiaobei Road bus station; or take subway No. 2 and get off at the Yuexiu Park station.

The best tourist time: Spring is the best time to visit when the temperature is moderate and Guangzhou Garden Fair is held here.
Food: The Yong Ya Shan Restaurant inside the park has a pleasant ambience and is famous for the dish of "fish' head" and Sun Chicken as well as a great variety of other delicious dishes. Travelers can have a rest there drinking some tea and enjoying the delicious food.
