The banana trees in Mayong Town are short but grow very well, and the bananas are usually big with aromatic pulp and turquoise-and-light-yellow-spot skin. The local ballad says: “The bananas in Mayong are many and big; the bunches in bud are like big pigs. When they get ripe in autumn, their aroma will be blown across five rivers.”
