Fengshui or Geomantic omen has the unique Chinese operation implement created by China-compass. The geomantic compass is a great invention of the Chinese geomantic omen family, which promoted China to discover the magnetic field and magnetic declination. And China was the first country carrying out its application into the producing and living practice of human being in the world.

Feng Shui (also known as "geomancy") is an ancient Chinese art used to promote such things as health, happiness and prosperity. The words literally mean 'wind' and 'water'. Feng Shui refers to the geographical environment to a great sense, which has an influence on the people and the economy. Now comes forth a great many phenomena hereabouts which people can not explain at all. For example, frequent accidents happen in a particular place; children of a certain time zone are inclined to cry at midnight; the patient who has a fever whose fever goes down at ease right away once has moved into another house; luck for making big money turn for better after changing a square building into a circular box, etc. People are unable to explain the cause of many things around. But if we have a deep insight into these phenomena, we can see clearly the unusual impact of geography on people's physiology and psychology. Since ancient times, there is a saying about "Feng Shui", there must have gas in the environment surrounded by mountain and water. Everything develops prosperously under the role of gas. Because the topography of the surrounding mountains has the function of preventing wind and sand from the crops and plants, which is beneficial to their growth. While the landform embracing water solved the problems of shipping and irrigation when the land-way transportation were not advanced yet. The new environment geography developing and originating from "Feng Shui" has already been in vogue abroad. But China has accumulated this ability in the feudal times for the past thousand and centennial years. It is the most important and urgent mission right now to analyze "Feng Shui" with modern sciences. The study of Feng Shui has witnessed the development process for five-thousand-year. It is a mixed system consisting of the theoretical principles, practical operating methods and the actual cases. Although it was restricted in the recognition process of human history and contained some unscientific elements, yet the pursuit of knowledge based on the concept of "the unity of heaven, earth and mankind" inspires the deep insight and truthful opinions of the Chinese sages.

When the modern people are appreciating the civilization brought by modern science and technology, we cannot help worrying about the terrible prospect of the natural eco-system. Feng Shui is all about the way that we live in harmony with the nature, benefiting from the 'positive' energies in our living environment. Only when confronted with the destroying facts, we realize how serious the problem is.

Chinese Feng Shui is an idea established by the ancient sages by watching up the astronomy and down the geography. And it still boils down to the skills of the practitioner and their ability to read different aspects and elements in the environment far away and the people nearby, having achieved the prefect overall balance between 'Yin' and 'Yang'. The concept of keep human and nature in harmony and that of balanced development has gone through the Chinese civilization history for five thousand years. It has brought up city scene, building scenery and culture of varied features in the east, west, south and north China.

Chinese Feng Shui has caught the eyes of the experts of different fields from nearly all countries and has been put into practice. They are carrying out a systematic and overall study on Chinese Feng Shui by means of modern scientific theories and technological measures. Therefore, the domestic experts have to ponder over this serious matter.
