According to a landmark pact signed between China and the USA on June 18, 2004, the number of weekly flights between the two countries will increase nearly five times from the current limit of 54 weekly round trip flights to 249 within six years. The hub of China air travel is based in Beijing, with Beijing being the base for international travel.

Tips for China air travel

Boarding

The passengers of the domestic flight should arrive at the airport 90 minutes prior to the schedule. The passengers who take an international flight or want to go to the coastal cities must get to the airport 120 minutes before the flight taking off. They should transact boarding procedure with air tickets and personal documents (identity cards, passports, community visas etc.) 30 minutes before the schedule.

Baggage regulation

Groups traveling together are able to combine their baggage allowance if they check in together

Prohibited Items: The following items are prohibited and cannot be carried in checked or carry on luggage:- Flammable, explosive, corrosive, poisonous, radioactive, polymerizable and magnetized materials. Passengers are forbidden to carry arms, sharp or lethal weapons during flight.
