Worlds second highest airport opens in Sichuan

Local people welcome the travelers as the first plane arrives at the newly opened Kangding Airport in Kangding, capital of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, October 22, 2008. At an altitude of 4,280 meters, the newly opened Kangding airport is second only to Qamdo in Tibet Autonomous Region which sits 4,334 meters above sea level.
